In the world of entertainment, and for most of us, Netflix has become the place to go to when looking for a good show to watch on TV. Luckily Netflix has a vast amount of content that seems to be always expanding and getting better and better. Example… “Dark”.

If you haven’t had the chance to do so, please go watch “Dark”, which is a fantastic Netflix original show many of you might have already discovered, but for those of you that haven’t, please trust me when I tell you this is a must watch show. Think of it as “Stranger Things” on steroids, but that really doesn’t give it justice.
To me, not only the show was an absolute blast to watch, but as a musician and composer, I’m always listening to the score and themes of everything I watch, and as soon as I heard the theme for this show I was hooked on it.
The opening theme for “Dark” is actually a shorter and modified version of the song “Goodbye” by German composer Apparat and it features Soap & Skin, which is a musical project by Austrian artist Anja Plaschg.
This song (Goodbye), has been used previously on the trailer for Prisoners, Rust and Bone, and also on the first trailer for Taken 3, as well as in the season 4 finale of Breaking Bad. Yet, I think the song captures perfectly what “Dark” is all about and it fits perfectly as a great opening theme for the series.
After watching the show I thought I would make a guitar arrangement for the theme and share it with you guys, and for this one, I’m also including tabs of the arrangement.
This tab is fairly simple to play and it combines both strumming and finger picking technique. In order to play this theme you must tune your guitar down 1 1/2 steps, so your tuning starting on your low (6th) sting will look like this: Db Gb B E Ab Db
Enjoy!
