At 123 Rock, we bring fun and easy-to-follow chord charts with lyrics and sheet music to some of your favorite songs. These accurate chord charts will help you play your favorite songs and help you get familiar with chord changes in different keys. These chords can be used for Guitar, Piano, Bass, Ukelele, or any other instrument you choose.
For this month, we are sharing the chords for the popular holiday classic Jingle Bell Rock!
This song was originally written by Joseph Carleton Beal and James Ross Boothe, but Bobby Helms did its first recording in 1957. Helms, along with session guitarist Hank Garland, apparently didn’t like the original version, so they changed the title, melody, and tempo and added a missing bridge. The result is the new version of the song we know today. However, neither Garland nor Helms received writing credit or royalties.
Jingle Bell Rock was written as a rock n’ roll take on the classic Christmas song “Jingle Bells” with references to the 1952 hit “Rock Around the Clock”.
Have fun playing along with this one, let the Jingle Hop begin, and make sure to dance and prance in the frosty air!
